1. What is the objective of the Leaders Summit?
The UN Global Compact Leaders Summit aims to connect, co-create, and communicate the opportunities that lie within the newly adopted Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for business. These new global goals will drive the markets of tomorrow and can unleash a wave of sustainable products, services, and business innovations. Through the Leaders Summit, we seek to connect you to the people and companies relevant for you, and inspire you to shape the business models, products, and services of tomorrow

2. What is the objective of the Leaders Dinner?
The Leaders Dinner, taking place on the evening of 23 June, seeks to take guests on a journey to 2030 – the deadline for achieving the SDGs. Where will we be? How will the world look? How did we get there?

A highlight of the evening will be announcing the UN Global Compact SDG Pioneers, honouring sustainability entrepreneurs and innovators around the world who are working to use business as a force for good. This elegant and festive evening will be framed by captivating speeches and theatrical performances, while we celebrate pioneers of sustainable development.

3. What is the format of the Leaders Summit?
The Leaders Summit will be comprised of a combination of inspirational talks, intimate roundtables and SDG-themed networking opportunities. For more information on the programme, please see here

4. Where will the Leaders Summit and Leaders Dinner take place?
The first day of the Summit, 22 June, will take place at UN Headquarters. The second day of the Summit, on 23 June, will take place at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square. The Leaders Dinner will be held at Cipriani 42nd Street.

5. What will be the language of the Leaders Summit?
The Leaders Summit will be conducted in English. Depending on demand, translation services in additional languages may be available. For more information, please contact leaderssummit@unglobalcompact.org.

6. If there will not be simultaneous translation in the language that I requested, can I bring an interpreter?
Yes. Please coordinate with the Global Compact by emailing leaderssummit@unglobalcompact.org. Registration fees, at the SME rate, will apply to interpreters.

7. Who will participate?
Representatives from business, the investment community, foundations, the UN, civil society, Governments and academia will participate in the Leaders Summit. To request an invitation, please click here

8. How many people from our organization can attend?
In order to achieve regional diversity, we recommend that no more than 5 representatives per organization attend the Summit. Organizations are strongly encouraged to strive for gender-balanced delegations.

9. What happens if our top executive is unable to attend?
Top executives who are not able to participate are invited to designate additional representatives from their organization to attend the Summit. Please refer to the Participant Criteria for further information on who can attend the Summit. Organizations are invited to submit requests for additional invitations here

10. Do all participants need to register in advance?
Yes. All participants must register via the Leaders Summit online registration system. Only individuals who have received an invitation will be able to access the registration system. Please be aware that emails and letters to the Global Compact cannot be processed and will not be accepted as a substitute for online registration. Please refer to the Participant Criteria page or email leaderssummit@unglobalcompact.org for information on eligibility to receive an invitation.

Security passes granting access to Leaders Summit activities will only be issued to registered attendees.

11. How can I register for the Leaders Summit?
Participation in the Leaders Summit is by invitation only. If you have received an invitation, please click on the registration link in the invitation letter to access our online registration system. Please fill in all required fields and submit payment, if required for your registration. You will receive an automatic confirmation email once your registration is complete.

If you have not been invited and would like to request an invitation, please do so here. All invitation requests are reviewed and responded to within 7 business days. You will receive an official invitation letter via email if your request is approved. If you do not receive a response within 7 business days, please email leaderssummit@unglobalcompact.org

12. Do I need a code to complete registration?
No, codes are not required to log in to your registration. This field is only for Global Compact Local Networks. All Local Networks have been provided a code that can be used for one Local Representative Network of their choosing. If you have been given a code, please enter it before logging in. If you have any questions about Local Network codes, please contact the Global Compact Local Networks team.

13. I registered for the Leaders Summit and received a confirmation email. Can I still modify my registration selections at a later date?
Yes, you may log back into your registration anytime before 17 June 2016 using the modification link provided in your confirmation email. 

14. I started, but did not complete, my registration. Can I log back in and complete it at a later date?
Yes. You can log back in using the registration link provided in your original invitation letter, or in the email reminder you will receive after leaving the registration site before completing your registration.

15. Is there a registration fee for the Leaders Summit?
Yes, registration fees apply to all participants with the exception of: Government, Heads of United Nations Agencies, Funds and Programmes, and Leaders Summit sponsors. Please refer to the participant criteria for further information.

16. Is there an additional cost to attend the Leaders Dinner?
Yes. When registering, all Leaders Summit invitees will see several options for purchasing Leaders Dinner  tickets, and the associated fees. Please refer to the Leaders Dinner pricing for further information.

17. Do I need to attend the Leaders Dinner?
No. Purchasing a ticket or table at the Leaders Dinner is not mandatory. However, we encourage all Leaders Summit participants to join us for this elegant and festive evening, as we look ahead to 2030 and celebrate pioneers of sustainable development. 18. Can a top executive bring his/her assistant?
Yes. Please contact leaderssummit@unglobalcompact.org to request an invitation. Registration fees will apply to his/her assistant’s registration. Please see below for further details on registration fees and participant criteria. 

19. Will there be speaking opportunities for my organization?
The Leaders Summit is designed to help participants business, industry, investors, Governments, local authorities, civil society and the UN connect, co-create, and communicate the opportunities related to the SDGs and will be highly interactive. As a result, there will be a limited number of formal speaking opportunities during the Leaders Summit, and candidates for speaking roles will be directly contacted by event organizers.

20. How do I obtain a visa? 
During online registration for the Leaders Summit, participants will be asked whether they will need to apply for a travel visa to the United States of America. Once their Summit registration is completed and paid, participants requiring a visa will subsequently receive a letter of support from the UN Global Compact via email. The letter should be submitted along with other documentation when applying for a visa. Please refer to your local consulate for detailed information.

21. How can I make a hotel reservation?
A block of rooms has been reserved at the Marriott Marquis- Times Square – the location of the Leaders Summit Main Programme – at a special group rate. For more information or to make a reservation, please visit the Marriott Marquis’ website.

22. Can the UN Global Compact cover the costs of my trip to New York?
The Leaders Summit relies on sponsorship and contributions from participants in order to cover the cost of the event. Unfortunately, we are unable to fund the costs of travel and lodging for participants.  All transportation and lodging are the responsibility of each participant.

23. Are there sponsorship opportunities for the Leaders Summit?
Yes. The UN Global Compact is offering a limited number of exclusive opportunities to sponsor the Summit. Please contact Claire Kells at kells@unglobalcompactfoundation.org for further information.

24. As an individual, can I participate in the Leaders Summit?
The Leaders Summit is by invitation only and is open to representatives from business, the investment community, foundations, the UN, civil society, Governments and academia.
